Food, food and more food
Wake up to a large flavours of Herefordshire award winning breakfast comprising a buffet table laden with home grown fruit and berries which are in season; baked apple, rhubarb or pear, hot home baked muffins; local cheeses and ham; local bakery bread, warm rolls or croissants; yoghurts; muesli and a selection of dried fruit nuts and seeds.
If you’ve had too much wine the night before I’ll gladly whip you up my liver cleansing “power breakfast”!
We cook to order specialising in our full English breakfast comprising 2 each of the award winning pork, spring onion and stilton sausages, and thick cut bacon from the local butcher, served with two of “my girls” eggs, mushrooms and my own tomatoes (when in season) or choose our Walford Court special – 2 potato scones, topped with 2 rashers of the local butchers bacon with two of the yellowest yolked eggs you ever did see balanced on the top!
Lunches and suppers can be provided at any time from the tearoom menu.
With a little notice we will serve up a hearty home baked candlelit dinner - we’ll provide the candles and glasses; you may bring your own wine, in the dining room here at Walford Court. In the summer you can choose to eat outside, in the winter we’ll light you a fire.
To maintain Debbies youthful good looks, charm and warm witty sense of humour....she is being awarded Sunday (bath night!), Monday and Tuesday evenings off, so evening meals will normally only be available from Wednesday to Saturday night inclusive. Please do ask if you want to stay in as we do consider special requests (this applies more so "off season" when there is a likelihood I might have another night off!)
The cost for a 3-course meal including mineral water, followed by tea/ coffee is just £25 per person, reducing to £20 for 2 courses and £15 for just a main course.
What better way to relax than to be waited on just a few steps away from your room, and in the lovely surroundings provided by the old court house.
Our meals are all home baked in our AGA – no preservatives here, and based around produce that is lifted from the garden just in time to be cooked for you. If you have gluten, wheat or dairy allergies – no problem!
The following are tried and tested offerings. Please note that what is offered is very much seasonal, and so is dependant on what’s available in the garden, Debbie’s store cupboard, the local butcher!
Whilst we make every attempt to provide you with a little of what you fancy, there are limitations, and some of the options provided cannot be cooked for one. Your meal is cooked freshly for you by Debbie, so we do ask that you let us know at least by the day before if you require an evening meal on the night of your arrival, and at breakfast if you want a meal for the same evening.
